Short-roll winders with finished-roll handling systems from the ShortSlit series are used in applications where material is cut into short rolls either continuously behind a production line or separately offline, with the shortest possible cycle times. This series is further divided into “inline” and “offline” models.
The major advantage of the fully automatic short-roll winders in the ShortSlit series is that they offer cross-cutting and feeding systems—available for a variety of materials—for automatic right-angle cross-cutting and feeding of the new material web onto a prepared or unprepared winding core, as well as the ability to wind without a core.
In the basic model shown, the material is wound without a core, so there is no need to load the winding shaft beforehand. The finished roll is then changed so quickly that no buffer stock—or only a small amount—is required.
In addition, the ShortSlit series of short-roll winders is ideally suited for the production of pre-cut finished rolls. For this purpose, the ShortSlit series is available with manual or semi-automatic slitting systems.
